How do you Exceed Summon ???

When you exceed summon , the rest of the cards is placed under the exceed mon. and does it gain their eff. and is it like synchro summon just that is must be the same level Eg. 2+2=4 2+3=X .

both same lv,it gain its effect by removing 1 overlay unit

Exceed summon does not work like synchro. e.g. level tuner 2 + level 2 normal monster 2= 4 synchro monster
Instead, it requires 2 monster of the same level, to special summon a monster with the equivalent "rank". e.g. level 4 + level 4 = rank 4 exceed monster

Xyz (Exceed) Summon don't work like Synchro. You must have 2 (or more) monsters with same level (sometimes type) face-up you control. As Example, Number 39: Utopia, needs 2 Lv.4 monsters.

Different than Synchro, because in Synchro Summon, the levels of your synchro monsters must match the levels of your synchro materials.

As a side note, you cannot use tokens to perform a Xyz Summon, but you can use Tokens to perform a Synchro Summon or a Fusion Summon.
