Tournament Format: Duelist Arena
Main Deck: 40-60
Extra Deck: Up to 15 cards
Side Deck: Up to 15 cards

Additional Information

1 Duelist must write their Deck list and submit to person-in-charge to screen before entering the tournament.
2 The Tournament is using March 2009 Banned List (Advanced Format).
3 Both TCG/OCG cards can be used in this tournament.
4 No Korean cards are allowed in this tournament.
5 Only genuine Yu-Gi-Oh Cards are allowed in this tournament.
6 Judges' decisions are final.
7 Organizer and Head Judge have all rights to disqualify any players whose behavior is misconduct and for rule violations.
8 NO FAKE Cards are allowed.
9 Any Duelist found cheating or changing cards during the tournament will be disqualified instantly.
10 Audio Ventra Trading is not liable for any item loss.
11 Duel Terminal Cards are allowed in this tournament.
12 No Selling/Buying of cards between players are allowed during the tournament.


The Rules and Regulations:
1. Duelist are playing 3 rounds per match.
2. Each Duelist are given 2 playing chips upon registration.
3. Once the Duelist lost all playing chips, he/she will lose the tournament.
4. Duelist are allowed to register again before the next tournament slot starts.
5. Duelist are allowed to wager any amount of chips only if both duelist agrees.
6. Changes to the decklist are allowed in tournament, however a 50 cents extra charge is needed.
7. Duelist must register 15 mins before the next tournament time slot starts.
8. No Non-Dueling players are allowed to be near the Dueling Area.
9. After each Duel, duelist must report the results to the judges.
10. After the end of each time slot, duelist may choose to return the playing chips for safe keeping, the amount the duelist hold will be recorded.
11. Winner will be decided by the highest amount of playing chips he/she holds by the end of the last time slot on 29/3/09.
12. Duelist may registered at any day between the scheduled days.

1st time slot : 12pm-1pm
2nd time slot : 1pm-2pm
3rd time slot : 2pm-3pm
4th time slot : 3pm-4pm
5th time slot : 4pm-5pm

When register finish

Players get 2 'star chips'

The format is something like the Yugioh anime's Duelist kingdom arc

Both players 'bet' the number of chips ,winner takes the betted amount

We use the March 2009 Banlist

once all star chips are gone Player loses.

Number of chips can be recorded and kept for safekeeping at the end of each tme slot, so you dont have to carry them around

But you must report the scores to the judges after every match

top 3 are decided on the last time slot in 29 Feb 2009 by chip count.

is the TO gonna make pairings? if not then there will be endless loop like

A vs B
A loses 1 chip and wanna re
then b loses and wanna re
then repeat....

PS: how the heck the TO gonna earn $ frmo $2 entry fee with super good prizes =.=

Yes there are Pairings at random

Everytime you re-register after losing , you must pay $2 and 2 new star chips are given.

Not sure I agree with the rule about changing deck and paying for it though. IMO, should not be allowed at all.

Hi, lets do poll, do you think more people will bet on only 1 chip? Or save time and just keep betting 2 chips?

so technically, i can walk around the last day asking how many starchips the ppl have and buy until i have 1 more than them in order to win without playing??

or i would jus look around and after getting a good gauge, decide it its economical to pay $70 to buy the box and LE 14. Then tell him i wan a Controller of Chaos box.

what if someone got the most starchips cannot come on the last day.

Ok it seems like many of you have questions about the tournament i will try my best to solve it one by one

1) firstly buying of star chips are not allowed unless you have 0 star chips.
2) the number of chips you own will be recorded after each duel so even if you have extra chips we know whats going on and have the rights to DQ you.
3) The time slot works like this you will fight against 1 player(randomly assigned) only in one time slot , after that if you wish to go on to the second time slot you may. if you wish to stop for the day , you must hand over us your star chips for safe keeping , we shall record it down until you collect it for your next sessions.
4) the number of chips betting is decided by duelist as long as both duelist agrees to it.

this is not a 1 day tourney right?

Should be killed 19 players, cos' originally the player holding 2 chips, thus (40-2)/2=19.

its not a one day tournament but 1 month and this is the first time this type of tournament is being held here so i will take your suggestions into considerations for the next tournament should this prove to be a success .

So all in all, it's quite tiring to keep going down every week.

If you don't, it'll lower your chances of wining by a lot.

We have cinema field, grass patch field, hawker centre field as well as coffee shop fields available.

Hawker centres and coffee shops eh? I recommend bring playmats, cos' the tables there will be quite greasy. If got weather cough*rain*cough, then can forget about grass patch liao.

The aim is to allow people to come when ever they are free its true that if you do not come for all you will lose out but it will be the same if you increase your betting and of course win....like i said its the first time that this format is here well i do hope no one copies the idea as its kinda original. If this beta proves to be successful i will improve on the flaws.... To keep you updated there will be a Ranking Section on my forum on where your stand is. i hope you guys come to support.

Ok, to be more specific on this rule,
does it mean no trading from start of time-slot to end of time-slot for the day (12-5pm)?
What about in between 1 time-slot to the other? (12.45pm-1pm), which happens to be the registration time before the next tournament time-slot for the day.

IMO, it sounds abit harsh to prohibit players from trading with each other in between each slots, or after a duel, when the outcome of the match is know and they have free-time lying around. Don't you guys agree?

1) well i only said no buying/selling, i didnt say you cant trade....
2) we will provide tables it can play up 24 duelist per slot if needed so dun have to walk around.
3)and also if you know the rules to try to break them, if you break them you should have prepared for the worst already.

Not trying to find loopholes, it's just to clarify what are the dos and don'ts. When players trade, there will be situations where it will be a trade+ top afew bucks. Another thing is, the word "trade" can also mean buying/selling.

I'm just trying to seek clarifications, not trying to find fault in the system. What you've come up with is commendable and I wish you success.

To be honest i dun mind you guys selling or buying , i will close one eye if i see it but its not me that want to make this rule , its the higher ups. but at least do it outside of the tournament area that we cant do anything. one reason is because if you sell/buy cards in the tournament area you might be obstructing human traffic as the tournament will take up quite abit of space hope you guys understand

Point taken. Give and take lor. You grant us freedom, we respect your generosity in return. So, traders, take note, don't obstruct human traffic.

Actually, you all can always trade a worthless common and top cash.

Still considered trading.

Example, trading an X card with a Cloudian - Smoke Ball + X card's value of cash.
