can we use counter trap even if jinzo is on the field? ...jus asking cos i unsure... as i thought that speed 2(jinzo) cannot negate speed 3(solemn judgement)

i doubt you can cause when jinzo is on the field
no trap card can be activate

You cannot "chain" to a continuous effect as there is no chain being passed around. Since you cannot chain, continuous effect remains on the field, Jinzo's effect prevents you from starting a chain through a trap effect. Hence, you cannot use any trap. BTW, Jinzo's effect is NOT speed 2; its a continuous effect.

i thought all effect,trap or magic has speed?? if not...he speed 1?

JINZO effect is all trap cards cannot be activated.
So u cant even activate trap(s) after jinzo resolve on the field, cos u cant activate any traps, even counter.

Trigger/Ignition effects are speed 1
Multi-trigger aka quick effects are speed 2
Continuous effect does not have a speed and hence, it cannot be chained upon.

If continuous effect is speed 1 or 2, then you could have chained something to Jinzo, but the fact says that you CANNOT chain to a continuous effect. So, you can only start a chain with priority and NOT chain to a continuous effect.

Some monsters have effect that is continuous and has a trigger effect. At the moment, I can only think of Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo whom is not a very good example. FDP has a continuous effect that states you both player CANNOT special summon. This effect CANNOT be chained upon. However, the manual flip face-up effect that destroys all special summon monsters CAN be chained upon. You can chain this trigger effect with cards like Divine Wrath to negate the effect.

Similarly, some continuous trap card has ignition effects. These ignition effects can be chained upon, an example would be Royal Oppression. Some continuous trap has a trigger effect such as Macro Cosmos. These trigger effects can be chained upon.

ehh ur question is not clear

1) can i use counter trap when jinzo is summoned?
if u normal summon jinzo,opp can use solemn since speed3 + counter summoning PWN jinzo.

counter trap that can pwn jinzo for above scenario are
force back
solemn judgment
horn of heaven
etc.....

2) can i use counter trap as long as jinzo is on field?
if jinzo is on field,all trap are useless + cannot activate

Jess, I believe his question is can he play Speed 3 trap card because he believes Jinzo has a speed 2 effect.

jinzo effect doesnt have a speed.....its continuous 24/7 effect

field effect dominates over spell speed effects.

jinzo if you can get it on your field without getting slapped with a solemn or forced back, ur opponent can't use traps unless he can get rid of your jinzo.

not pointless post, is jus that i got confuse by the speed thingy...i didn't know there is such thing as continous effect...so i got confuse by the speed 2 cannot negate speed 3 thingy

Well.... Speed 2 cant negate Speed 3. Thats for sure. Just that Jinzo's effect is NOT speed 2, but continuous. Speed 2 effects are multi-trigger or multi-ignition (bad word, but I don't know of a better one). The effect can be activated during your opponent's turn. Cards like Sangan, Injection Angel Lily and Black Paladin are examples of Speed 2 monsters.

example DMOC aka MOBC
reasoning plus chain spell(discard all cards from hand to chain to a normal magic, the normal magic can be used twice this turn after chain magic)

I saw his MOBC is summoned 1st but he took back a magic card from his grave even if chain magic is still resolving for the reasoning...

but this is so long ago ... nvm since its jus a KOF match.

On other matches he oso took back magics from MOBC in inappropraiate times but i cant say anyting jus told the audiences cos his opponent allowed.

This is wat we should not interupt. HAHA i oso cheat to be honest with rulings!!!

Aiyo... i play reasoning so long, first time hear people say dmoc cannot take back magic == can lah. just that after magic resolve lor. also not in chain what. Reasoning itself is in chain1 alr

chain magic (or called continuous magic) : effect chain this to a NORMAL magic card in this case is reasoning, discard yr whole hand to activate.

NO WHEN MOBC IS SUMMONED 1ST U CANNOT ACTIVATE ITS effect as it is optional and chain magic is still resolving.

Unless the 1st monster is not MOBC then chain magic resolve and MOBC is summoned , then MOBC gets to use its effect.
