Tourney begins at 1pm SHARP. Strictly no latecomers will be entertained.

Swiss of 3 rounds, then top 16 single elimination. Best 2 out of 3 for all rounds.

Registration Fee: $8 (1 free can drink would be provided.)

1 Structured Deck + 1 Vanguard Protectors (both of your choice)

If more than 32 participants, 9th to 12th (or 16th) would be given boosters as consolation prize depending on turnout.

*Prizes subjected to change depending on turnout.
Prizes will increase if turnout is better than expected.

For those that did not get into top 8
8 X 1 Booster from series 3 box (New box).

Grand Lucky Draw (if there are at least 32 participants):
For ALL participants
1 X SP (either Maiden of Libra or Blazing Flare Dragon, will be decided on actual day)

Note:
Cards from Series 3 can be used due to high demand. Decklists not required to be submitted. Random deck checks may be conducted. If more than 16 triggers or more than 4 copies of the same card is found, player would be disqualified from the tournament immediately and the chance of getting any prizes and even lucky draws would be forfeited immediately.

Would appreciate if you could let us know the rationale for restricting the use of cards from booster 3 in this tournament.

The cards would be out on the 6th of August, meaning all the players would have access to the cards by then. Furthermore, all the players would have at least 2-3 days to get themselves familiarized with the new cards from booster 3 which is fair in my opinion.

As such, I do not see the need to restrict the use of booster 3 cards and would greatly appreciate if the reason for the restriction could be made known to all.

This is to prevent misunderstandings from arising due to the wrong usage of card effects, rulings etc. Even though the cards would be accessible 2 to 3 days before the tournament date, the effects and rulings of each cards may not be confirmed within this short period of time.

Players usually follow what is writen on the Internet and what is writen on the Internet can be edited by anyone. This means that inaccurate information may be passed down, especially in the first few days after the cards are released.

Based on past experience with YuGiOh, where wrong card effects or rulings are played and thus resulting in unhappiness among the players, we feel that it is more practical to restrict the use of the cards from booster 3 in this tournament.

Furthermore, we do not have a judge for this tournament. Should there be a conflict among the players, there is no one to judge who is right. It does not always mean that majority is right. Whereas for series 1 and 2, it is already more or less made known to all regarding the card effects and rulings. Not issue here. But for series 3, such issues may arise.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused. We sincerely hope that this restriction would not prevent anyone from joining this tournament. In fact, this restriction is specially made to prevent any unhappiness from arising due to conflicts about the card effects and rulings.

can i know if the vol 3 effect if other ppl misuse how?

If situation can be reversed to before the misuse, the 'misuer' will get a warning and everything is reversed back. If its too late to be reversed back, may result in Game Loss or Match Loss, depending on the severity of the situation. If the misuse is only found out AFTER the match, and a winner is already decided, then there is nothing that we can do, except to give the one that misuses effects a warning. Receiving 2 warnings may result in a disqualification. This applies to any misuse of effects from vol 1, 2 and 3.

Please consult someone about the effects if you are unsure. I am sure there would be alot of Iphones around, so do ask around if you are unsure about the effects. Other than effects and rulings, no advices should be made to the participatants.
