Question regarding gusto gulldo

When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 Level 2 or lower "Gusto" monster from your Deck.

if i use gusto gulldo as a synchro material, do i still get to sp summon level 2 n below gusto monster?

Some say yes some say no. totally confused. Can someone kindly enlighten this? :hugs:

No, as it would miss timing due to the synchro monster being special summoned out.
This is because gusto gulldo's effect is optional, not compulsory.

If the text is something like sangan's

Quote :

When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, add 1 monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck to your hand.

you can still search the monster into your hand as its effect is a compulsory one.

Look for for the "you can", that is usually the indicator
