| If there isn't any grade 1 rear guards on your opponent side, can we still counterblast 1 it and move it to the soul? Same for gatling claw dragon(retire grade 0 when counterblast 1 and sent to soul) | |

| cant there must be a target for it to retire, retiring is the requirement so if the card doesnt meet the requirement than it cannot retire and move to soul | |

| Actually the requirement is to Counter Blast 1 and move it to soul. The effect is to retire 1 of your opponent's grade 1/0 rear guards. However, it doesn't say you may in the effect text, so probably means you must retire opponent's rearguard to move to soul. | |

| You can pay the cost even if opponent don't have grade 1 on field just to send the card from rear guard zone to soul. | |

| Paying the cost is a condition.. Likewise.. You can play those trigger like Rp dog and GB ban shee and send them to soul but condition will not activate.. It like paying a cost but cannot happen.. Also like Borngal activate effect but you could not search anymore SSD from deck.. It is still move to soul as the cost condition is met.. | |

| hey guys you can still move it to soul but disadvantage is that you cant use the ability to its fullest , also gattling claw , he can be moved to soul even when the opponents dont have any grade 0 rear guards . source : 1: For cards such as example - BT02/030, Pongal or BT02/064 or Gatling Claw Dragon, even if you do not have a Soul Savior Dragon in the Deck to add to hand for Pongal or a Grade 0 Rear Guard on your opponent's field to destroy for Gatling... Claw Dragon, you can still pay the cost to move them into the soul of your Vanguard.
2: For cards such as example - BT02/074, Red Lightning, you can move it to the soul even if your Vanguard is not a Nova Grappler. Only if your Vanguard is a Nova Grappler then it's ability of unflipping 1 facedown damage to faceup from the damage zone will be taken place. So if the Vanguard is not a Nova Grappler, after you move it to the Soul, you will not be able to unflip 1 facedown damage to faceup from the damage zone.
