PostSubject: Q>Starting a chain to set cards, garoth milling effect   Q>Starting a chain to set cards, garoth milling effect EmptyMon Nov 30, 2009 1:18 am

Qn1: Is it possible to chain a card to a set card?
E.g.
Player 1: Set a monster
Player 2: Activate Icarus attack straight away.

Qn2: Does Garoth's effect trigger to Celestia mill 4 effect?

Qn1:Yes

Qn2: No,because in order to activates garoth's effect it had to be an effect trigger by a lightlord monster but Celestia's effect is a cost by sending cards from deck to the graveyard therefore garoth's effect does not activates... dats what I think

Correct me if I am wrong cause I am not good at rulings too =x

1) no coz setting a monster has no spell speed
2) no coz celestia mill 4 cards is a cost.

Yes to Question 1. After you set a card, priority will be passed to your opponent. Below is a summary of actions that will result in priority being passed to your opponent.

Giving up of priority:

  • After playing a card during the main phase, before the next action:

    • Summon, Flip Summon, Special Summon, Changing of Battle Position of a Monster
    • Set a card
    • Activate a Speed 1 Spell

In the event that the Turn Player continues without voicing out his/her conduct, it is possible to have a rewind when the opponent voices his objection.

  • Declaring the end of various Phase:

    • Draw Phase
    • Standby Phase
    • Main Phase
    • Battle Phase
    • End Phase

  • Giving up of Priority at various Step:

    • Start Step
    • Battle Step
    • Damage Step
    • End Step
